Abstract
Being disabled is a situation stemming from physical, mental or psychological functional or structural differences, which makes it difficult for the individual to participate in professional life. According to the 2011 data of the Statistical Institution of Turkey, 12.29% of the population of Turkey consists of the disabled individuals. This study has been conducted to determine the attitudes and behaviors of the Medical Faculty students of İnonu University towards the disabled individuals. The study is a cross-sectional study, and has been conducted with the Medical Faculty students of İnonu University in 2015 February-March. The minimum sampling size formula has been calculated for the 1298 Medical Faculty students of İnonu University in the study period. 658 people participated to the study. Data collection has been performed with the questionnaire technique under interview, and the questionnaire consisted of two sections. In the first section, the questions were about the socio-demographic characteristics of the participants. In the second section, the Attitude Scale for the Disabled, which was developed by Dökmen Z. in 2000, was used. In the analysis of the data, the t Test and the One-Way Variance Analysis has been used for the independent variables. The mean age of the participants was 21.94±2.28. 53.9%of the students weremale, and 46.1% were female. 31.5% of the students stated that they had a disabled individual in their families or vicinity, 3.7% of them stated that they were disabled. The average point of the students who had disabled individuals around them was 66.66±19.84, the average point of the group which did not have was 68.90±19.61 (p>0.05). The average point of the group who were disabled was 70.14±19.00, and the average point of the group who were not was 68.18±19.74 (p>0.05). According to our study, the Medical Faculty students had positive attitudes towards the disabled individuals. Young age, female gender, elementary family and plenty of siblings were the reasons for positive attitude. Social activities are needed to be added to the curricula of the Medical Faculty students who are in close interaction with every layer of the society to ensure that their attitudes become more positive towards the disabled.

Abstract
The present study sought to investigate a role for Syzygium cumini on VCAM-1 and ICAM-1 expression in endothelial cells induced by plasma from preeclamptic patients. Endothelial cells were obtained from human umbilical vascular endothelial cells. At confluency, endothelial cells were divided into five groups, which included control (untreated), endothelial cells exposed to 2% plasma from preeclamptic patients (PP), endothelial cells exposed to PP in the presence of ethanolic extract of Syzygium cumini (PP + SC) at the following three doses: 100; 200; and 400 ppm. Analysis of ICAM-1 and VCAM-2 level were done by immunohistochemistry technically. This increase in VCAM-1 was significantly (P < 0.05) attenuated by both the 200 and 400 ppm treatments of Syzygium cumini extract. Plasma from PP significantly increased ICAM-1 levels compared to untreated cells. This increase in ICAM-1 was significantly attenuated by the 400 ppm doses of the extract. In conclusion, Syzygium cumini extract prohibits the increase in VCAM-1 and ICAM-1 in endothelial cells induced by plasma from preeclamptic patients. Therefore this may provide a natural therapy for attenuating the adhesion molecule induced by endothelial dysfunction found in this pregnancy complication.

Abstract
There are few researches about the average length of stay of inpatients in psychiatric clinics and costs of their treatment. In addition, these are unknown in Gülhane Military Medical Academy (GMMA) and military hospitals. In this study, it is aimed to determine the average length of staying at hospital according to their diagnosis and the frequency of hospitalization of inpatients in psychiatric clinics of GMMA. In a one-year period between July 2004 and July 2005, all patients admitted to a psychiatric clinic GMMA prospectively were included in the study. In total 1311 records were examined. Findings: The average length of staying at hospital was 23.8±5.7 days and the average of the frequency of hospitalization was 1.5±0.5. 3.6% of inpatients were admitted involuntary, 22.1% of them were admitted for the forensic observation and %69.1 of them was admitted for the first time to the clinic. 47.5% of patients were discharged without medication, and 15.3% of them had multiple drug use were determined. The average length of stay of those admitted for forensic observation was 12.5 ± 4.2 days. Revolving door group was hospitalized frequently and long-term. Moreover, processing time of health institutions is too long. These two lead wastage. With the realistic determination of average cost of an inpatient and its burden to the national economy, resources can be used more efficiently and health care can be able to offer better quality.

Abstract
The widespread use of laparoscopy in daily urology practice is increasing. The laparoscopic surgery has some advantages about bleeding, short hospitalization and smaller insicion when comparing open surgery. In this study, I aimed to evaluate the patients who were treated with laparoscopic surgery in Çorum Training and Research Hospital. The patients who underwent laparoscopic surgery between May 2013 and January 2015 were evaluated retrospectively. The patients’ age, operation time, bleeding, peroperative and postoperatice complications were recorded. Monopolar and ultrasonic energy devices were used. All of the patients used antiembolic sock and low molecul weight heparine was performed on postoperative period. There were 25 patients in this study. 17 and 8 of these patients were male and female. The median age of the patients was 53±14.01 year and operation time was 101.4±79.3 minutes. Two patients needed blood transfusion on post operative period. Drain tube was used for 9 patients. Two of these patients had renal cyst. Bleeding and noromuscular pain were the complications of the operation on postoperative period. Laparoscopic surgery has more advantages about hospital stay, need of analgesia and smaller incisions when compared open surgery. After the basic urology education, laparoscopy can be performed by young urologists.

Abstract
Arteriovenous fistulas (AVFs) created for hemodialysis accesses are prone to aneurysmal degeneration. Arteriovenous fistula aneurysms may lead to pain, aesthetic problems, infection, bleeding, and fistula thrombosis. The aim of this study is to report our surgical approaches and outcomes of AVF aneurysms. Medical records of a total of 21 patients (9 males, 12 females) with an AVF aneurysm who underwent surgery at Karabuk Training and Research Hospital, Department of Cardiovascular Surgery between January 2013 and March 2015 were retrospectively analyzed. The mean age was 59.7±13.5 years. Aneurysmectomy was performed on eight patients, while partial aneurysmectomy and polytetrafluoroethylene graft interposition were carried out in four patients. Three patients underwent aneurysmorrhaphy, whereas six patients underwent thrombectomy + aneurysmorrhaphy to the aneurysmatic segment. All patients were discharged without any event at the postoperative second day. They were scheduled for follow-up visits and assessed by Doppler ultrasound. Currently, surgical repair is the gold standard in the treatment of AVF aneurysms. Based on our experience, we recommend surgical interventions for selected patients to maintain AVF continuation.

Abstract
Many studies in the literature have shown the assosiation between serum analits of first and second trimester screening test with intra uterin growth retardation and abrubtio placenta. However these markers role in the predicting of placental abrubtion is unclear. We aimed in this study,is there any relationship between placental abrubtion without risk factors and first and seconder trimester screening markers. 120 term pregnant women who gave birth by Caesarean section has been included in this retrospective study, patients and controls were compared for the 1st and 2nd trimester serum markers levels. Fetal nuchal translucency measurements were significantly higher in the study group than control group. This study emphasizes that increased fatal nuchal transluency is more important than serum biomarkers of first and second trimester screening tests.

Abstract
Sperm analysis must be the first investigation for the couples who desire for fertility. Sperm concentration, total progressive motile sperm count, total motile sperm persentage, total progressive motil sperm persentage and sperm morphology are the best markers to determine sperm quality. Spermiogram results of 114 couples that diagnosed with infertility are evaluated in this study. After 2-7 days sexual abstinence the sperm samples were collected in the laboratory and evaluated according to World Health Organisation criterias. 4 (3.5%) of 114 patients were azoospermic, but 80 (70.17%) of 114 patients have more than 15 x 106 /ml sperm concentration. 3 (2.63%) of 114 patients have less than 1 x 106 progressive motile sperm count but 82 (71,92%) patients have more than 10 x 106 . Total motility persentage was less than 20% for 5 (4.38%) patients and 72 (63.15%) patients’ motility rate were more than 40%. 45 (39.47%) patients’ normal sperm morphology are less than 2% and 14 (12.28%) patients have equal or more than 4% normal mofphologic sperm.

Abstract
The aim of this study was to determine the predictive value of neutrophil lymphocyte ratio in the diagnosis of the adenomyosis.
Seventy two 72 perimenopausal patients who underwent hysterectomy and diagnosed as having any additional pathology except adenomyosis according to the histopathological evaluation of the surgical specimens constituted the study group. One hundred 1OO perimenopausal patients who underwent hysterectomy due to reasons and had normal findings without any organic pathology (like uterine descensus, dysfunctional uterine bleeding) constituted the control group. Parameters saved in from patient medical records for each case were as following: age, obstetric characteristics, hemoglobin, Neutrophil, lymphocyte, platelet, Mean Platelet Volume, Follicle stimulating hormone, cancer antigen 125, neutrophil lymphocyte ratio.
There were no statistically significant difference between the age, neutrophil, lymphocyte, platelet, FSH, Ca125 values. NLR was also higher in the study group (2,3±1,4) compared to the control group (2,1±1,0), but this difference was not statistically significant.

Abstract
Our aim in this study was to differentiate postobstructive consolidation from lung cancer by means of first-pass perfusion CT in centrally located malignancies. We studied 20 patients (18 males and 2 females) diagnosed as lung cancer with untreated central masses and distal postobstructive atelectasis. In order to localize the slice position showing the appropriate mass-consolidation area to be included in contrast-enhanced dynamic imaging, we first performed scout and baseline acquisition without contrast media, followed by dynamic acquisition after intravenous contrast media injection. Three different ROIs were placed on the central mass while avoiding the peripheral regions as much as possible and on the peripheral locations of distal consolidation using dynamic contrast-enhanced images. The BV, BF, TTP and MTT perfusion parameters were automatically calculated in the ROI locations. We were able to differentiate the central masses from distal consolidations by means of statistical differences in the first-pass BV and BF parameters between the mass and distal consolidation areas. The mean values of parameters that were calculated in the mass and consolidation areas were BV:7.69±4.28 ml/100g, BF:48.87±25.54 ml/100g/min, TTP:27.94±7.32 sec., MTT:9.56±3.47 sec. and BV:11.83±5.34 ml/100g, BF:78.75±39.41 ml/100g/min, TTP:29.72±6.05 sec., MTT:11.44±4.93 sec., respectively. We concluded that first-pass perfusion CT may be used as a functional imaging method to differentiate central lung cancer from distal consolidation and could be useful in reducing the target cancer volume in patients who are candidates for radiation therapy.
